MRS. MEEK'S WEEKLY MESSAGE

Dear BPE Families,
Valentine's Day is around the corner and I want to take a quick moment to communicate the parameters of the celebration. Classroom parties will take place on Thursday, February 14th in your child's classroom. Thank you to the gracious parent volunteers for coordinating these exciting events for our students!  To foster friendships and kindness, students are invited to bring valentines to ALL students in their homeroom class. If children would like to exchange valentines with friends outside their homeroom, they are welcome to do so outside of the school day. Valentine bags will be provided and created at school for collection of valentine cards. Valentines will be exchanged at the end of the school day and opened at home. Please look for more information from your child's teacher pertaining grade level specific information and classroom policies around food allergies.

Do You Have a Student Who Will Be New to Bridge Point Next Year?

On Monday, March 4th Eanes ISD will begin accepting new enrollment applications for the 2019-2020 school year.  If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten next year, your enrollment application can be submitted any time after March 4th.  Here's the link to the Eanes ISD Enrollment Page where you will find an enrollment checklist listing the enrollment documents that are required and a link to the enrollment application.

Do You Have a Student Who Will Be New to Kindergarten Next Year?
On Wednesday, March 27th Bridge Point Elementary will host Kindergarten Round Up.  This is a great time to come and meet the principal, assistant principal, counselors, nurse and kindergarten teachers.  If you have a child who will be starting kindergarten next year, please make plans to join us!  Your child will get to see the kindergarten classrooms, meet the teachers, and go through the cafeteria line to pick up a snack. Please avoid the rush at Kindergarten Round Up and bring your enrollment documents in early!  By doing this, you will be free to listen to the program at Kindergarten Round Up instead of waiting in line for your enrollment documents to be copied.

Please Note: Dell Match Play will be going on during our Round Up which will change parking options for families.  Riverbend Church will NOT be available for parking during Round Up.  Please plan to share a ride with another family if you can.

BPE NEWS

Counselors' Corner

One of our goals for the second semester and also as we look forward to the next school year is to serve more students here at BPE both individually and in a small group setting.  While we have several ways we are hoping to achieve this, one change we are starting now is reformatting our small groups. Though some of groups will continue to follow our traditional 6 session format, we will also be starting three and four session mini groups.  We've utilized peer models in many of our groups in the past, but we are striving to include even more peer models in each group we serve moving forward. When possible, we are also trying to serve different students in each group (i.e. minimize the number of repeat students in groups). This means many of you may be receiving information about your child joining a small group and we want you to know this should not cause concern!  These are just a handful of changes you may see coming and we are so excited to get to work closely with even more students!

Sincerely,

Addie Edwards and Jennifer Cheatham
