May 10, 2019 MRS. MEEK'S WEEKLY MESSAGE Dear BPE Families,
This week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week. On behalf of my staff, I want to thank all of the families for taking a few moments to recognize our fantastic teachers. Your gracious support this week (and all year long) has made a difference in making teachers feel appreciated for going above and beyond each day for kids.
The Booster Club Officer Installation Ceremony will be conducted by the children of the new officers during morning assembly on Friday, May 24th. On this same day following our morning assembly, all volunteers are invited to our BPE Volunteer Breakfast. This event will be held in the library from 8-9 AM. It is our way of saying "thank you" to our parent and community volunteers for enriching the lives of students. We hope to see you there!
I would also like to wish all of the mothers out there Happy Mother's Day. Being a mother to another human being is the most important job on Earth. It goes without saying that our Bridge Point moms are the BEST! I hope you take some time for yourselves this weekend and remember what a privilege it is to be a mom.
All My Best, Heather Meek BPE NEWS Counselor's Corner
Next week third, fourth and fifth grade students will be participating in STAAR testing. Third and fourth grade students will take math and reading assessments on Monday and Tuesday. Fifth grade students will take the science assessment on Wednesday. Fifth grade students who participate in 6/7 math will take the seventh grade math assessment on Monday, as well. Please help your children get plenty of rest and eat hearty, well rounded breakfasts before testing.
Next Friday is the final day to submit input using the 2019-2020 Class Placement Parent Input Form. This form is available for you to provide input about your child's personality and learning style for next year. Our intent is for each student to be set up for success academically, emotionally, and socially. Please refrain from making specific friend and/or teacher requests, as they will NOT be honored. This form is completely optional and certainly not necessary. However, it is an opportunity for parents to provide input on the best learning environment for their child if they feel inclined.
Sincerely, Ms. Edwards and Mrs. Cheatham
