| Changes at BPE |
Dear Bridge Point Community,
We all know life brings changes, whether on the personal or professional level. The truth is, when you hire good people, you want them to succeed and flourish as leaders. When they do, and you see an opportunity for further growth, you do not hesitate.
As announced recently, Heather Meek is leaving as BPE Principal to join the Eanes ISD Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment team. Heather has been a valuable part of our school district and BPE for five years and we truly appreciate her leadership, guidance and passion for education in everything she has achieved over the years. We know she will bring those same amazing qualities to the CIA team to better all students throughout the district.
Typically when we have principal openings, we conduct a full interview process which includes input from staff, students and parents. Although we do not have the time to conduct a thorough interview process before school starts, we are still committed to naming an experienced and respected leader to guide BPE, even if on an interim basis.
Because we want to ensure the BPE community is given a complete process as well as a highly competent interim principal, we have asked BPE Assistant Principal Sheri Bryant to step into this important role for the 2021-22 school year.
Sheri is beginning her 18th year in education, 10 of which have been in Eanes ISD. She has held various positions as a general education teacher in Kinder and 1st grades, a special education teacher, a reading specialist, and most recently serving as BPE assistant principal for the last five years. She already has incredible relationships with staff, students and parents so we are excited she can move into the interim role without disruption to the school year.
Once we are able to collect stakeholder input and begin looking for a new principal, we will keep the BPE community involved and updated. Both in the interim and the long-term, BPE deserves the most qualified candidate who meets the district’s and campus’ standards to provide the best fit for the BPE community.
In the meantime, please help me congratulate Heather on this new adventure and please welcome Sheri to her new capacity. Heather won’t be far down the road and of course, she will continue to visit BPE, albeit in a new role. I know Sheri will serve BPE well as interim and I know she will be welcomed by all.

Todos sabemos que la vida trae cambios, ya sea a nivel personal o profesional. La verdad es que cuando contratas a buenas personas, quieres que tengan éxito y prosperen como líderes. Cuando lo hagan, y vea una oportunidad para seguir creciendo, no lo dude.
Como se anunció recientemente, Heather Meek se va como directora de BPE para unirse al equipo de Currículo, Instrucción y Evaluación de Eanes ISD. Heather ha sido una parte valiosa de nuestro distrito escolar y BPE durante cinco años y realmente apreciamos su liderazgo, orientación y pasión por la educación en todo lo que ha logrado a lo largo de los años. Sabemos que aportará esas mismas cualidades asombrosas al equipo de la CIA para mejorar a todos los estudiantes del distrito.

Tanto en el ínterin como en el largo plazo, BPE merece el candidato más calificado que cumpla con los estándares del distrito y del campus para brindar la mejor opción para la comunidad de BPE.
Mientras tanto, ayúdame a felicitar a Heather por esta nueva aventura y dale la bienvenida a Sheri a su nueva capacidad. Heather no estará muy lejos y, por supuesto, seguirá visitando BPE, aunque en un nuevo puesto. Sé que Sheri servirá bien en BPE como interino y sé que será bienvenida por todos.
